The Greg Kihn Band was formed back in 1976 by frontman Greg Kihn and bassist Steve Wright in Berkeley, California, USA. The Breakup Song was released on the band's 4th studio album Rockihnroll in 1981, it would peak at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and #5 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart.
